This class was an introduction to all things mass media. From learning the history of journalism to show how immensely it has evolved, to examining current articles to see if they are credible and have the components that make it worth reading. This class gave me a great understanding of not only how to write concise, yet informative, articles, but it also gave me the tools needed to be a thoughtful reader in this day and age.

Walter Cronkite covered the most important headlines in his 19 years as a CBS anchor and earned himself a significant place in the history books. In that time, he was the most trusted man in America. "And that's the way it is".
I found it very interesting to examine a person's life so closely and see what the roots of their success were. I created this slideshow with a scrapbook in mind, as I was presenting Walter Cronkite's life. Overall, I had an incredible time working on this project!

I was assigned a controversial journalist, Brian Williams, to evaluate and explain their wrongful actions. Brian Williams told an individual story various different ways, some including completely opposite events and outcomes to the actual story, of which we can only guess the true happenings. Brian Williams was a successful reporter, but something got into his head and changed everything.
For this presentation, I attempted to make it more "professional looking". I used subdued colors and sharp lines in order to place the focus on the information on the slideshow. Usually, I do not use block letters in my slideshows, however I used them in this one and couldn't be more happy with it. This slideshow is important to me because I explored a new style and it reminded me to continue to do things that might be out of my comfort zone. It is there that I will grow and learn.
