Creative Classes

In Communications Technology, I gained an understanding of how to take advantage of the tools offered in the adobe cloud. We learned both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop through multiple unique projects. Each assignment improved my ability to use each program efficiently. The skills that I have gained from this class are crucial to my future at Communications and will be useful beyond as well.

Through reading numerous texts and poems, watching informational videos, and doing thorough research, English 1 broadened my knowledge in many different topics. In this class, we worked on our essay writing skills, responded to multiple novels, and participated in bookclubs. I got to explore topics of my choosing, which allowed me to explore things that I am passionate about. Overall, this class changed the way that I look at information that is being put in front of my eyes and further encouraged me to pursue what I have an interest in.

This class was an introduction to jobs involved in making a cohesive film, shot types, the production process, basic editing and production terms, and basic shot composition. We learned how to create a treatment, write a script, create a storyboard, put together the two needed schedules and basic editing capabilities. This class taught me the fundamentals of filmmaking and provided me a solid base to grow off of.

This class was an introduction to all things mass media. From learning the history of journalism to show how immensely it has evolved, to examining current articles to see if they are credible and have the components that make it worth reading. This class gave me a great understanding of not only how to write concise, yet informative, articles, but it also gave me the tools needed to be a thoughtful reader in this day and age.

This class pushed me out of my comfort zone, but resulted in shaping me into a more confident speaker. Through writing and giving various different speeches, all at different lengths and on different topics, I learned what is important in speech writing. By the end of this class, I gained the ability to give a speech with a couple notecards and some bullet points.
