Manifesto
Here: A Personal Manifesto
Going into this project, I had never seen a personal manifesto. After doing some research, I learned that it can be list, a chapter's length, or just a couple of sentences. I decided that my ideas could be best represented in a list with opening and closing lines. This project allowed me to explore my personal morals, or what I want them to be. After writing the manifesto, I thought that the best way to portray my idea of "here", a state of being that I describe in the manifesto, would be through a video. As I have learned through the years, I am a visual person. For this reason, I thought that this medium best fit who I am. The fact that this project was open-ended allowed me to fully create what I imagined and I am pretty happy with the result.
After reading "The Crucible" and watching the film, there was a lot of be said in terms of the life of John Proctor. As an act of respect (and a way of showing our understanding of the play), the class had a small funeral for the man who is known by many as a tragic hero. The eulogy that I wrote is in the perspective of his ever-loving wife, Elizabeth. I know it's probably terrible to say, but I may have had a lot of fun writing this.

"Between Desiderium Boulevard and Infatuation Lane"
Although I was the "deciding writer" on this piece, I cannot take full credit for the plot-line. For this assignment, I began the writing of the piece and wrote the first paragraph in ten minutes. The paper proceeded to be passed around the room in ten minute intervals. In which, each person was given a different prompt. By the time it returned to my hands, it was a semi-cohesive and finished story. Then, we were given the task of completing the story however we saw fit. Above is the final product, which is quite different from its initial state. Creating a character with this type of persona was difficult, but ultimately enjoyable. As this was my first time taken a closer look into the genre of gothic fiction, I believe that this type of writing has broadened my thoughts on the human brain and the ways in which it leads us to our own perceived world.
