Literary Theory Summer Reading Writing
As our second assignment of the class, I was prompted to analyze "Joy Luck Club", my summer reading book of choice, through the lens of three different literary theories. I found that biographical, formalism, and feminist theory most aligned with the novel. As a story with complex facets throughout its entirety, I was intrigued to focus on certain intricate details through this piece of writing.

Pride and Prejudice - Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine
As an introduction to literary theories, I chose to compare the analysis of "Pride and Prejudice" and "Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine". I was fascinated by the parallels within these two novels, given that they are drastically different in era and intention. "Pride and Prejudice" tends to be a controversial classic, though I thoroughly enjoyed the style and storyline upon my first read. Eleanor Oliphant, while not controversial, was a new novel that created noise within the society of readers around the world. I was excited to share my thoughts on these two novels as they are surely thought-provoking and worthwhile for people of this era.
