Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
I have recently been reminded again by interacting with others in various ways that we rarely know what those around us are going through. What is the solution to not knowing what is happening with those you encounter? Remember to ask, take time to listen, and care about what those you come in contact with are facing. These conversations can often lead to gospel opportunities. This doesn’t mean that someone will always be led to saving knowledge of Jesus, but we are planting seeds with those that are lost and hurting. We also encourage those who already know Jesus and remind them to do the same with those around them.
This has been happening in our lives recently as we’ve had conversations with neighbors, coworkers, church small group interaction, in-person visits, texts, and an invitation via email to share prayer concerns.
Below is just a sample of what has been shared with us:
My dad was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer in mid-August and his second cycle of chemotherapy is Wednesday. For healing & comfort but the ultimate prayer is for his salvation.
Husband’s upcoming stress test and other related testing.
Caring for aging family members.
Pray for God to give our son-in-law a deep desire to love and follow Him that will also overflow in a desire to be a servant leader for our daughter.
Loss of a spouse to cancer and her own current battle with cancer.
Knee replacement and other health issues.
Praise for the upcoming birth of a 2nd grandbaby.
Praise for daughter officially getting accepted into A&M this week Please pray for favor in getting Jr. college classes to transfer so she can graduate on schedule.
Husband's gallbladder was removed and Dr. found a tumor on a kidney and removed it as well.
A prodigal son and the relationship with him.
Loss of a dad and the grief associated with that.
Returned cancer in a close friend of ours that is in their early 40’s.
Son who recently had a motorcycle accident and broke both femurs. He is also far from God and we are praying that he will come back to the Lord.
New marriages and engagements.
I am certain you could add to a list like this. As you go about your daily lives be mindful of those around you and remember to ask what is going on in others lives. Tell them you will pray, then take time to pray for them and then if the opportunity comes ask later for an update on how things are going.
Please pray for us to be a light to those around us.
