Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
We finally have our own home, neighborhood and a new hometown! After 13-plus months we have closed on a house in Krum, TX and are getting settled into our new space.
We closed on September 29th as planned and spent the next several days installing blinds, cleaning and doing a few other projects around the house before the movers arrived with our belongings. Movers arrived on October 3rd and quickly unloaded our belongings. The house didn’t come without its issues so over the past two weeks we’ve worked with the builder to get them resolved. Most of these have been or are being addressed, so we finally feel like we can truly unpack boxes.
The neighborhood is a new one so there was a big push for the builder to close phase 1 by their fiscal year-end of September 30th. DR Horton closed on 53 homes in our neighborhood in just over a week, so you can imagine the hustle and bustle that took place to get that done. Angie’s sister commented that our move-in would be like college move-in day with so many people moving into the neighborhood at once. Everyone seems happy to finally have their homes, and we’ve met some of our new neighbors. Those we have met are super sweet and we are so grateful to have them near us. There are still a few homes around us where they haven’t moved in yet or where a house is available for purchase. We look forward to meeting more new neighbors as we all work on settling into our new neighborhood.
As we moved to Texas and looked for a house, our prayer all along was for God to place us where He wanted us. We didn’t know the journey to get to our home would take this long, but we can see the hand of God in it. We give thanks to Him for where He has placed us at such a time as this. Our prayer is that we are a light to those around us and that we can impact others for the Kingdom right where we are. Our desire is to invite others to join us around our table and encourage each other to pursue the relationships that matter most.
We give thanks for our home! And, we give thanks for being just 8 miles away from Angie’s sister and brother-in-law.
Praise that our appliances work after being in storage for 13 months!
Pray for Angie and I as we began participating in group bible studies and are meeting new people.
Pray, we make meaningful connections with our new neighbors in the coming weeks.
Pray as we continue to unpack boxes and settle into our home.
