Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
I am sure all of you have had those times when you thought your day, week or month was going one way and then...the phone rang. Sometimes you are waiting for such a call and other times it is a complete surprise. Sometimes it is good news and other times it is not. We have had several of these moments over the last few months.
One of our anticipated phone calls has been around waiting to hear if an offer on a house has been accepted. Unfortunately, none of these has yet to be the news we wanted to hear. Instead, we’ve heard “your offer has not been accepted”.
Another phone call we were waiting on was to hear about interviews that Rachel was having while looking for her first “real” job after completing grad school. When this call was received it was good news! Praise God she has a job and has already started!
Next came a call that was unexpected. Angie’s mom was taken to the hospital with a UTI and pneumonia. This resulted in Angie and her sister making an unplanned trip to Meridian. Thankfully she is doing better and Angie has been making herself available to help when needed.
Then came another unexpected phone call to me at 9:15 on a Friday morning. This one was from my boss to see if I could fly last minute to San Diego to fill in for another planner who was sick. A few hours later I was on a plane and by shortly after 7 pm I was at the hotel in California to take over for the sick coworker. This unexpected call allowed me to play a role in what God was doing there when I arrived. The guest comment below is just a taste of what God did.
"I came into this weekend not sure of what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. With us approaching 34 years of marriage, as a husband I can say that our marriage was in what I would call “cruse-control.” The WTR Conference was a wake-up call. The marriage relationship as God has established it is not static. It needs to be nurtured so that it can continually grow into what God intended it to be. Thank you for a blessed and God-glorifying weekend!" Husband, married 33 years
The last phone call was from Angie to tell me that she was going to join me in San Diego for my second (planned) event. This allowed us both to serve and reconnect with each other after being in separate places for ten plus days. I am sure that if we could sit down with each of you over a cup of coffee that you could tell similar stories. Your phone calls might or might not have been over the last month and a half, but we are sure you have been on the receiving end of calls like ours. We are praying that no matter what is happening in your life right now that you can feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
Praise that Rachel has her first job using her degree in Mental Health and Counseling. Pray for her as she settles into her new job.
Please pray as we continue to search for a house while taking a class and preparing for two events.
Pray for Angie's mom who is still in the hospital recovering from a UTI and pneumonia and receiving rehab to regain her strength.
Praise that we are in TX and available to help Angie’s parents during this challenging time.
Pray God would use us in this time of transition even in what feels like some unknowns.
