Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
With 2021 behind us, take a look back to see what God did and anticipate what He will do in the coming year. Our family, like yours, is at the beginning of a new chapter of your story. We pray that the chapter ahead, for all of us, will be a blessing to those we encounter, surrounded by relationships that matter most and filled with God-directed purpose.
We are excited about the upcoming year of ministry that will take us to cities across the nation to spread His Good News and encouragement to families from all walks of life. Angie and I are particularly excited about our spring events because Angie will be trained to work in a new role alongside me at the Weekend to Remember. Her new role will be as the Shop Manager, who is responsible for training the volunteers, as well as setting up and managing the Shop we have onsite at each event. She will be traveling to four of my five events, training at three and doing her first solo event at the last one.
Our leadership continues to call the Weekend to Remember "the single best thing we do at FamilyLife". They see it not only as an obvious way to spread the Good News but as a way to fuel the local ministry in each city/area where we host an event. This in turn encourages the local teams and ministries to ongoing ministry that will have a lasting impact. An example of this was at my San Antonio event last fall where we partnered with the San Antonio Marriage Initiative. They not only helped spread the word about the event but also handled the follow-up for all those that indicated they made decisions or wanted to get involved locally. These types of partnerships greatly improve the impact we can have on a community. Pray with us as we look for more potential partnerships around the country.
As for a personal update, we are still looking for a house in the DFW area. We are thankful for the accommodations and hospitality of Angie's sister and brother-in-law while we wait. We are continuing to look at houses as they come on the market—the last house we offered in a town you most likely never heard of sold for $56,000 over the asking price! So we are also considering a DR Horton neighborhood that is being built but currently the lots in that neighborhood are held up waiting on city permits, gas lines, etc.
Even as we desire our own home, our biggest desire still remains for God to place us where He wants us. We want to be a light to others and have a lasting local impact in our future neighborhood and community.
Praise that both of us finished our last required class and will receive our completion certificate soon.
Please pray as we continue to search for a house, while Angie trains for her new position and I plan my spring events.
Pray for Brandon as he continues to work on a degree in finance at UCA and seeks an internship for the summer.
Praise for a wonderful weekend in December celebrating Rachel’s master’s degree.
Pray God would use us in this time of transition even in what feels like some unknowns.
