Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
Every Weekend to Remember is unique and many stories are told, worked through, cried through, and THIS is a story that shows the true miracles that take place. Joe and Cindi Ferrini, were the speakers. This is account of what happen that Cindi shared with me and my team after my Charleston event in December. This is a couple that signed up late, it was sold out and they were actually number two on the waiting list! But God wanted them there and this will show how He used the weekend and all who served there to make a difference.
Young gal married 7 years and dated 4 with a 14 month old daughter. She said if you knew us in college and until recently….everyone would say we had such a good…even perfect marriage…but in the last four months things changed. She sobbed through tears that her husband has been distant for 4 months, staying away from home after work until late, and the last 4 weeks has been telling her he never loved her, and other hard things to hear but when confronted about another woman, denied it. This gal said, “If it’s an affair I want to know it. We can work through anything, I believe.” She was so tender, sweet, and for a 20-something, very mature in her faith. (After we talked for about 30 minutes I (Cindi) suggested she go back to the main sessions and be sure the two of them came to every session, as the one you miss is the one most needed, usually! She did.
She came running to me after lunch, sobbing and shaking saying he admitted to an affair. She was so distraught! I went into the room where we had talked before, and she waited outside to have him come into the room together where I was. He came in, frustrated, irritated, and paced the floor the whole time. We 3 talked while he wandered, but he clearly was TORN. SUCH an obvious site to see of one entangled in SIN yet knowing God and not knowing how to “fix” the mess!!!! I didn’t want them to miss the session going on which was about…..FORGIVENESS!!!!! So I suggested they go to the sessions and both meet Joe and I in this same room after the INTIMACY talk. So at 4:45 they were IN THE ROOM waiting for us!

Joe and I met with them from 4:45-6:30. That young lady was given strength of the Lord to say words that flowed out like honey to her husband, “I am angry. I am mad. I am frustrated but I love you. I want to work through this. The Lord will give me all I need if you choose her. I’m not going to fight because it’s you that has to choose….But I choose you.” He paced. He said one thing (I love this other women) and then another (I love you) and wavered for a bit. As Joe unfolded walking in the Spirit…confessing sin, asking for forgiveness, asking the Lord to fill him, he began to soften. Truly….it was like watching a snowman melt as he began to realize his SIN, that he could lose he wife and daughter, what he was doing to this other woman, her family, and the impact (negatively) this would have at his workplace which was run by CHRISTIANS!
We talked about next steps as he began wanting to reconcile. The next morning, they were hugging, took a picture at the photo booth with the sign “We STILL do!” and big smiles. They texted us as they left and said, “We are going to make it. He already called his boss and we are meeting him on the way home (3 hour drive) to talk to him.”
This morning she texted me and told me during that conversation he resigned immediately (from his place of work where the OTHER WOMAN and he both worked), called some safe and trusted friends and the pastor - confessing his sin to all and asking for accountability. He will also hopefully join her (she already started) in counseling. And while she (and we) are seeing this as a true miracle, she said, “I’m struggling."
THIS struggle will be real for her as she/they gain trust again. Will you please continue to pray for this sweet couple. Obviously not every couples comes in this condition, but what a privilege to be part of what God did!
