Praying for your families to feel the peace, presence and assurance that God is with you.
A coworker shared the following thoughts from a pastor friend, Brad, who attended a Weekend to Remember last fall. He and Nancy have been married for 43 years. Before attending he said, “I wanted to go to learn how to be a better husband.” His heart to learn has no doubt served him well as a pastor and in his marriage.
The following are Brad’s thoughts after the event not only for them personally, but what Brad thought about his church’s marriage and family ministry.
“Prior to joining staff at the church, in my profession, I attended conferences of $1 billion insurance companies and I would stack your speaker couples up to their keynotes. I am quite familiar with the Scriptures on marriage and have read quite a few books, but the ability of your speakers to connect and encourage through personal transparency was most uplifting."

1,809 people and 18 salvations at Hershey Weekend to Remember Valentine weekend.
“On Sunday, during the men’s session, the speaker drew a teaching point from earlier in his talk that I did not see coming and was powerful in terms of the very reason I came. He said our wives are God’s daughters before they are ever our wives, and that we will return them to Him either better or worse for our influence. WOW, that sobers a husband up! That has influenced me to be a better husband!"
“Our church, especially the last two years, has watched marital challenges, in particular, become significant - one of our top three priorities. We do not have enough people on hand from a marriage counseling perspective and I know most counselors in our community are up to six months out from taking new appointments."
“This spring, we’re viewing with greater significance the invitation of our couples to attend a Weekend to Remember. We’re also already prayerfully considering what ministry God may birth in the hearts of couples following attending an event. How will this event help this area of our church’s priorities."
“As a pastor, one of the hats I wear is that of ‘generosity,’ financial giving. In that area, I want to encourage and thank you for investing in their ministry with FamilyLife. Now speaking from experience, you are clearly impacting many - many that you will never meet, but for treasure that glorifies God!”
More than 15,300 people attended one of our 32 fall events and 265 indicated professions of faith in Christ Jesus!! Now, we have started our 46 spring event season. Angie and I head out for our first event in 2 weeks. We will serve at the following events this spring: Charlotte, Indianapolis, Reston, Frisco and Austin.
Praise that through the generosity of many partners we not only met but surpassed our year-end giving goal! Thank you for helping us stay focused on sharing the Gospel truth.
Praise that Brandon has an internship lined up for this summer with GenWealth Financial Advisors in Little Rock.
Please continue to pray as we continue our search for a house, while Angie trains for her new position and I plan my spring events.
Pray God would open up ministry opportunities and new relationships in this area.
