Staff conference

It has been a busy summer and I am writing this during a 17 day stretch away from our temporary home. Over 5,000 Cru staff and their kids recently descended on Milwaukee, WI for our staff conference. It was great to be together after missing our regular time last year due to COVID concerns and restrictions. The time together was encouraging, refreshing and relaxing. We got to meet new staff face to face that have joined us since we moved out to work remotely. We were reminded of our mission to reach the world with the life altering, unifying message of the Gospel. We also heard many encouraging stories of how God is using our staff across the world to glorify His name.  

We were able to participate in some setup work that took place before the conference, and we were asked to share a little of our journey with FamilyLife staff since moving out of our house last September.

House progress

It has been fun watching the progress on our house. If you aren’t familiar with DR Horton, they are the nations largest builder and they are quite efficient at what they do. The most recent things that have happened are the addition of bricks to the outside of the house and insulation in the walls. They are currently working on the sheet rock and we are still being told that we are on schedule for moving in late September!

Celebrating 30 years

Last week we went to Gulf Shores, Alabama to celebrate 30 years of marriage.  We were able to spend some time recounting God's grace, thinking back over some of the adventures, trials, and blessings we have experienced over the past 30 years. 

Preparing for fall events 

I am spending this week in Orlando working with the planner team doing some training and preparation for our upcoming fall Weekend to Remember events. My events this fall will be in Las Colinas, San Antonio and Charleston. Angie will serve alongside me at Las Colinas and Charleston.

• • • • • • Housing update: As far as we know we are on schedule to get our house late September. They were working on the sheetrock last week!  

          • Pray for the planner team as we work in Orlando this week preparing for the Weekend to Remember fall events.

          • Pray for Brandon as he starts his senior year at UCA.  

          • Pray for Angie as she and her sister help care for their parents.

          • Pray for Rachel as she is counseling kids in Northwest AR and settling into professional life.
