A letter to Ukrainian girls
by Emmanuel Nti and Marco Liberati, 5A
Dear girls,
we are students who attend the 5th primary class of Montecastrilli, a small town near Rome.
Two of our schoolmates, Emmanuel and Marco, last July met you on scout camp. They told us you are funny, smart and lively.
How are you? We know your country is in war and we are worried. We would like to know how you are spending your time in this bad moment.
What do you see and how do you feel when you look outside the window?
We hope that you will try to always smile and be happy even if the situation is bad.
If you can't do this, we hope our letter will make you feel better.
We also have another question: Do you go to school?
We will wait for your answer, and hope you’ll like our letter.
See you soon,
With love

Rosa Parks was born on the 4th of February, 1913 and she died on the 24th of October, 2005.
She was a civil right activist, since she refused to stand up when a bus driver asked her to go to the back of the bus. After this act of courage, the bus driver called the police and she was arrested.
This happened on the 1st of December, 1955. From this date, black people started a protest inspired by Rosa Parks' action. The next year, The Supreme Court declared the black segregation was an unconstitutional fact.
Rosa Parks moved to Michigan, and she spent the rest of her life fighting for equal rights for everyone.
She even inspired Martin Luther King.
Today, she is considered the mother of the "freedom movement" of Afro-American people.
