PROJECT PROCESS AND RESOURCES

2ND GRADE 2ND TERM

2º TRIMESTER 2EP


The contents for the first trimester are about:

HEALTHY and GOOD HABITS

    • VOCABULARY : germs, clean, dirty, soap, lifestyle, cough, sneeze, wash your hands, respect parents, sports, have a play time, read books, eat healthy foods
    • STRUCTURES: How often do you wash your hands? / Yes I do, No I don’t/ Two times, three times...

HEALTHY FOOD

    • VOCABULARY: Healthy, unhealthy, food pyramid, fruits, vegetables, grains, meat, dairy, breakfast, lunch, dinner, juice, nuts, meat, junk food, snacks
    • STRUCTURES: How many times do you eat a day? Healthy food makes you strong and unhealthy food makes you weak and ill.

FIVE SENSES

    • VOCABULARY: eyes, see, nose, smell, hear, ears, taste, tongue, touch, hands.
    • OBJECTS: binoculars, gliter, loupe, salt, sugar, spices, teddy, soft, glasses, mask, mirror, sponges, slime, markers, parfumes, spoons, plates.
    • STRUCTURES: I can see with my eyes, I can hear with my ears, I can touch with my hands, I can smell with my nose, I can taste with my tongue.

ILLNESSES

    • VOCABULARY: Stomach ache, earache, headache, toothache, sore throat, backache, sore throat, fever, broken arm, broken leg, medicine, pills, medicine, have a rest, go to the dentist, brush your teeth, take a massage, drink a cup of tea, carry a plaster
    • STRUCTURES: Good morning, What´s your name?, What´s the matter? / I have… / You should…Call the doctor soon.



I. Healthy Habits

These are all the resources that we used to teach about the healthy habits. The teacher and the students did a brainstorming about what they know about germs and watched a video to get more information about it.

The students need to fill up the table to see what their healthy habits are, such as washing their hands, brushing their teeth, eating healthy food and so on.

Also, the students played a game called "Good Habits" . They had to connect the pictures with the sentences related to good habits.

II. HEALTHY FOOD


The students learned about the food pyramid.

III. FIVE SENSES

To start with the learning station, children will watch some videos about the Five Senses, with some explanations and songs.

With this video, children sing and learn how to pronoun the vocabulary we are going to use.

Students will see the explanation of the five senses through this video.

Then, they will have a huge amount of things to classify, thinking in the senses they have watched.

After that activity, they will have to start doing the album they will give to Thanos about the five senses. Students will use the app called "Keynote".

IV. ILLNESSES


In this station students will learn about illnesses. First they will work with big cards with illnesses written on them and they will have to find the solutions for those illnesses and join them, also they will have to act a mini dialogue using those cards and the information on them.


Later the students will complete the crossword.

They also will use flashcards to learn the vocabulary.

They will play memory games. Also they will give solutions to the problems, e.g. "I have a stomach ache" "You should have rest".




Students will watch a video and learn the phrase "What's the matter?".

V. WRITING WORKSHOP

Students will have a writing workshop to know how to write the vocabulary !

First, they will learn all the vocabulary, and this will be like a game. In groups they have to match flashcards: picture with the word.

Then they have to fill the mind maps!

At the end the have to get all the stamps in the check list!
