Upon successful completion of a module, you will be issued a certificate of completion via email.
To receive credit, submit the certificate of completion along with the "Graduate/In-service Credit/Professional Development Application" form to Human Resources.
These are introductory modules that will allow you to explore and learn the basics about a topic, skill, or Google App. At the end of each module you will demonstrate your learning by taking a short quiz.
These modules are meant to help you gain comfort using features of Google Apps, or other platforms, by providing you with the chance to practice your skills and apply what you have learned. At the end of each module you will demonstrate your learning by completing a performance task.
These allow you apply your learning by creating something that you can immediately use in the classroom or office. At the end of each module you will submit what you created as evidence of your learning.
GoGuardian is a classroom management tool that allows teachers to monitor and control student activity when students are using district Chromebooks or signed into a district Chrome account on a PC while in school. GoGuardian is designed to help teachers guide lessons, monitor student progress, and keep the focus on learning.
This is an introductory course for educators looking to learn more about AI. This module will cover fundamental information about AI such as: What AI is and how it works, what AI can accomplish, concerns regarding the usage of AI, and best practices for crafting prompts to optimize AI outputs.
During the module you will learn how to create assignments for students with Google Classroom's Practice Sets. Practice Sets allow teachers to create interactive assignments, spend less time grading, and get performance insights that can be used to shape future lesson plans. In turn, students get immediate feedback on questions, access to additional built-in supports, and encouragement to keep them engaged.
All Cohoes teachers and students have access to the paid version of Screencastify. In the past, Screencastify has been used to create webcam and screencast (or a combination of the two) videos as a means of instruction. Recently, Screencastify has added several new features that make this an even more valuable app. This module will provide an overview of those new features and how to use them.
This module will show you skills you can use to organize your Gmail. You'll learn how to create labels, move messages from your inbox into labels, create filters as well as several other useful tips for managing your email.
This module will show you how to optimize Google Calendar for keeping track of events and appointments across your personal and school accounts. You'll also see how to customize notifications and a few other tips for helping you manage appointments in your calendar.
Learn how to maximize your use of Google Chrome. You will learn how to create, organize, and manage bookmarks, use Chrome Profiles to make switching between your personal and work account seamless, and how to setup startup pages.
This module will show you skills you can use to organize your Google Drive. You'll learn how to create folders and subfolders, name these items appropriately, easily move content into folders as well as several other useful tips for keeping your files organized.
Create a MagicSchool Student Room
This module will show you how to use MagicSchool with your students. You'll learn about the student tools available as well as how to setup and moderate a student room.
Create a Tour With Google Earth
The creation tools in Google Earth allow you to create a project on any subject of your choosing, adding placemarks and contextual information, then organizing your project into a narrative flow. Once created, you can share your project and collaborate with others.
Prerequisite: Comfort working within Google Slides or completion of Google Slides Fundamentals module.
Choice boards, or learning menus, are a form of differentiated learning that gives students the option to select learning activities that appeal to them and demonstrate learning in their own way. Incorporating choice increases motivation and engagement. During this module you will learn how to use various features of Google Slides to create a choice board.
Google Sites makes it easy for teachers to create attractive and useful websites. Teachers can use Google Sites to build class web pages, resource hubs, post information for parents, leave accessible sub plans, etc. In this module you will learn how to use various features of Google Sites.
Prerequisite: Must know how to create a basic form with Google Forms. Google Forms Fundamentals module encouraged but not required.
In this module you will learn how to create self-grading assessment and automate feedback with Google Forms.
During this module you will learn how to create interactive activities and assignments using Google Drawings.
Prerequisite: Comfort working within Google Slides or completion of Google Slides Fundamentals module.
During this module you will learn how to use Google Slides to create an interactive activity or manipulative.
Prerequisite: You must know how to create a Practice Set OR have taken the Intro to Practice Sets Module.
During this module, you will create a Practice Set assignment.
