showing up for yourself

Susannah Winters' talk at TEDX Hilton Head Women (watch below) explores what self-care is and what it isn't. In short, Winters describes self-care as "showing up for yourself," devoting at least 30 minutes a day to sitting in stillness (10 min), spending time in nature (10 min) and moving and grooving (10 min).

While Winters suggests we do these three things for at least 30 minutes every day, I ask each of you to do each of these things for at least 10 minutes at least one time in the upcoming week. Self-care is not selfish and you are worth caring for.
