Course Description:
This class is designed to engage students in problem-based learning experiences that introduce the world of construction. Students will reinforce core mathematic skills as they are challenged with several hands-on projects.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) (A-G UC Approved Art Credit)
Grades: 9-12
Duration: Year Course
Course Description:
BIM is designed as a single period UC approved art class focusing on the drafting, design and building information modeling aspects of construction. Study areas include: Computer Aided Drafting and 3-D modeling.
Basic Metal Manufacturing
Grades: 10-12
Duration: Year Course
Course Description:
This class is designed to familiarize participants with the three major technical occupations (welding, sheet metal, and machining) that are available in the construction/metals industries. This course is designed to allow students to master basic welding theory & technique as they complete multiple hands-on projects.
ROP Electrical Systems Technology
Grades: 11-12
Duration: Year Course – Double Period
Course Description:
Through hands-on, interactive projects students in Electrical Systems Technology explore a vast assortment of electronic communication systems to include: computers and computer networks, video security surveillance, burglar alarm, fire alarm, professional sound systems, and public address systems. Students will also receive training in the foundation elements of electronics, fiber optics, cabling and the physical setup of electronic systems.

Duration: Year Course – Double Period
Course Description:
This course provides students the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and technical skills through a hands-on curriculum developed to integrate construction skills and concepts with applied mathematics and English. Students will design and build a variety of advanced structures such as sheds and tiny-houses. Additionally, students will reinforce math, and English skills using written projects, construction documents that include creating blueprints and 3d modeling.

ROP Building Trades Internship
Grades: 12
Duration: Year Course – Double Period – Off Campus
Course Description:
This unique course allows students the opportunity to work off-campus with select community partners in construction related occupations including traditional construction, architecture, engineering, surveying, electrical, electronics, welding, project management and many others. Interested students must have advanced maturity, developed work ethic and a driver’ license and/or reliable transportation.
