What Are AP classes in High School?

Advanced Placement and Honors classes offer a stimulating educational experience for college bound students who wish to challenge themselves intellectually as well as academically. AP and Honors pathway classes require a greater commitment on the part of the student but also offer the greatest opportunity for academic accomplishment and individual growth. All students at Clovis High are encouraged to challenge themselves by enrolling in Advanced and Honors classes during their time at CHS. Those students who apply themselves to this academic pathway will be rewarded with increased critical thinking skills to better prepare them for the rigors of college. Select students may also earn prestigious honors (AP Scholars and/or Advanced Studies Scholars of Distinction) to include on college applications and resumes.
