Tansport Day: 29 May
On Friday 19 June, the JP playground became a full on traffic jam, as the Grade1 children took to the “skies” and blocked up the usually quiet paths, with various forms of transportation! This event is always a highly anticipated day on the calendar and this year was no different. The pre school children looked on, eager for their time to come. Whilst the older children looked back on their fond memories of their time behind the wheel!
The pilots, astronauts and heavy duty drivers (to name a few) loved showing off their amazing creations. This parade reflected special time spent with a grown up, working hard over the last few weeks, bringing their dreams to life. Thank you to our incredible parents for investing this time with your child. It was wonderful to see how proud they were and how they loved seeing each other's works of art.
The morning continued in great spirits as we returned to the classroom to build and create. Edible boudoir racing cars, manned with a jelly baby driver and smartie wheels, along with floating sponge yachts were all part of the theme crafts. The children loved replicating an ancient old wagon, using recycled materials and the highlight was making a balloon racing car! Super memories were made and the children will certainly look back on the day fondly, as we celebrated the amazing inventions that continue to revolutionise year after year, since the early days of the Wright brothers.
