Dear Parents,
From Chilly Fields to Warm Hearts: A Week of True Grit
Last week, Clifton had the privilege of hosting an Inter-Schools cross-country meeting, welcoming approximately 400 runners from various schools to our campus. A massive thank you to the entire Clifton staff who worked seamlessly together to ensure our many visitors and competitors were so well looked after.
Dear Parents,
A Living Piece of History: Welcoming a Founder Pupil
I trust that everyone in our community enjoyed a wonderful, restorative half-term break filled with rest, reflection, and quality family time.
On Monday, 18 May, our campus was blessed by a truly historic event. We were deeply honoured by a visit from Esmond Dowse, one of our original founder pupils from 1942. Remarkably, his visit fell on the exact anniversary of the day he first arrived at Clifton, as part of that brave, foundational group of boys who stepped off the train at Nottingham Road. Now in his vibrant 90s (and exploring the campus with an enviable spring in his step!) Esmond joined us for Chapel to deliver a Bible reading, before spending the morning touring the school estate.
Dear Parents,
Visionaries, Voyagers, and Victories
We began our week with a poignant Chapel service dedicated to our Founders. It was a time to pay tribute to two visionaries: Mr. Harry Stubbs, the founding Headmaster of Clifton Durban, and Mr. Kenneth Haworth, our founder here at Clifton Notties. These gentlemen shared a profound dream: to educate children in an environment that felt like home, where education is personal, and every child is truly seen.
Dear Parents,
Chess, Chapel, and Connections
We began our week with Monday Morning Chapel that was nothing short of a treat. Our Grade 4s took to the stage to perform their drama pieces, radiating confidence and joy. Behind every happy child on the stage was the dedicated guidance of Mrs. Holloway and our passionate teaching staff. It was a reminder of how central Chapel is to our life at Clifton, a sacred space where we come together to reflect, worship, and celebrate as one family.
Dear Parents,
From Icebergs to Aladdin: A Week of Contrast and Connection
As the weather shifts towards those crisp winter mornings, the Clifton spirit is truly beginning to warm up. Our children are now firmly in stride with their hockey, rugby, and cross-country sessions, proving that a Midlands chill is no match for Notties energy!
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Term 2: Foundations and Frontiers
I trust that everyone in our community enjoyed a restful and restorative break. It is a joy to see our classrooms and fields bustling once again as we embark on what promises to be a busy, productive, and successful term.
