Our Chapel was filled with warmth and melody at lunchtime on Tuesday, 23 June, for our delightful JP Music Recital! The event was wonderfully supported by an enthusiastic audience of parents who came to cheer on our young musicians.
Our Grade 2 and 3 Cliftones have had an absolute whirlwind of a term, filled with hard work, energy, and spectacular music! These young choristers have thrown their hearts into every rehearsal, and their dedication has truly shone through in a series of wonderful performances.
While it may have seemed like a relatively quiet term for the SP Choir on the performance front, behind the chapel doors, our choristers have been anything but idle! This term has been all about building foundations and finding our collective voice. The choir is currently singing beautifully together, blending their melodies to create some truly magical moments.
A Term of Growth and Friendship
This term has been an exciting and rewarding one for our Prep School Band Ensemble. Through dedication, practice, and teamwork, our young musicians have learnt several new songs and developed their musical skills while building strong friendships along the way. They discovered that making music is not just about playing the correct notes, but also about listening carefully to one another and working together as a cohesive unit.
Rhythms of Success: Our Marimba Bands Shine!
It has been an incredibly busy and vibrant semester for our Marimba players at Clifton Notties. With two dedicated bands now rehearsing regularly, the campus has been alive with energy, rhythm, and spectacular progress.
Clifton Reds Marimba Band Shines!
On Sunday, 7 June, our talented Clifton Reds Marimba Band braved the first frost of the year at 6.45am to load up their instruments and head to Highgate Wine Estate for the annual SPCA 1000 Paws fundraising event. Despite only forming and learning their repertoire in January 2026, this brand-new ensemble delivered two flawless morning performances without a single hitch. Led by band leader Masedi, who brilliantly introduced the musicians, the children did us proud by showcasing a beautifully varied selection of pop, classic, and traditional pieces as the gorgeous Midlands weather warmed up.
A Standing Ovation for our Clifton Performers!
The Sacco Theatre was transported back to the Roaring Twenties on 18 and 19 May as our Grade 7 boys and girls presented their spectacular production, Mystery at Magpie Manor. The resounding success began the moment guests arrived in the foyer, complete with red carpet and stanchions, where they were treated to shortbread and sherry while Grade 7 flapper girls in magnificent dresses posed elegantly to 1920s music around period decor. On stage, the children truly brought their characters to life, beautifully showcasing the social norms and glamour of the era.
