Arkaea

Arkaea, officially the Seolist Sultanate of Arkaea, erroneously Archaea, is a major power in southern Harbyrence. It has avoided colonialism for the most part, aside from the disputed area of West Ibeth, which formerly was Heritagian, along with Easibaea, which was a Heritagian colony, though is independent now. 

Arkaea is among the oldest countries in the world, its date of establishment being disputed among historians. It was originally a number of city states, the largest being Zhouwood, which eventually formed the Sultanate of Arkaea in the year 266, now often referred to as the Sultanate of Arkaeo-Scaldria. This was one of the world's largest empires until its collapse in 1204.

It avoided being totally colonized during the Scramble for Harbyrence, however it lost Naarlund to Mochlund, and West Ibeth and Easibaea to Heritage. Mochlund invaded Arkaea just before the beginning of WW2, however never totally annexed it. Following the war, Naarlund was made an Aile dominion until 1955, when Naarlund became a quasi-independent Arkaean puppet regime. This lasted until 1962, when Naarlund regained full independence. Heritage transferred West Ibeth and Easibaea to Arkaea in 1957.

The Easibae War was a civil conflict in Arkaea in 2001, fought between the Arkaean government and Easibaean seperatists. This war resulted in the independence of Easibaea.
