Events & Announcements:
Monday Bell Schedule: Just a reminder, our Monday Bell Schedule is slightly different. Click here to access our bell schedule. Class periods are shortened by 15 minutes to allow for Self Directed Learning (SDL) at the end of the day. During this time students check in with their mentor, take content assessments, work on Power/Additional/Challenge Focus Areas and finish classwork. This is an essential component of our programming and required for all students taking any Summit course.
Virtual Coffee Chat THIS WEEK!: Principal Bartrom is anxious to connect with parents and provide real time support with the Summit Learning Platform. Parents are invited to participate in a virtual "Coffee Chat" on Thursday, 9/20 from 8:30 -9:30. Principal Bartrom will be providing a brief CAH update and tutorial on the Summit Learning platform. There will be time for Q&A as well. Bring your coffee, bring your questions!

Check Schoology Daily: Please remind your student they should be checking Schoology daily for messages, course updates and announcements.
Dress Code: Last week there were many students in violation of our CAH Dress Code. Please take time to review our dress code with your student. Review the dress code by clicking here.
Attendance Email Address: If you wish to report an excused absence or tardy or you plan on picking up your student early please email cahattendance@classicalacademy.com. This will ensure your note gets delivered to the appropriate CAH Team Member.
Closed Campus: Coastal Academy High School is a closed campus. Once on campus students are required to remain on site until the conclusion of their school day.
Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures: As you arrive to school in the morning, please follow the signs and directions by driving all the way down the drop off lane. This prevents us backing up Avenida del Oro. Please do NOT make a left out of our parking under any circumstances. In the afternoon, please do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to your designated pick up time. This will help prevent the parking lot from becoming overly congested. Alternatively, you can pick your student up in the Albertsons/Planet Fitness/KFC parking lot. It's a very short walk from our school and if time is of the essence, it may result in a quicker pickup time.
Coastal Academy High School Handbook: Click here to access the CAH student/parent handbook. Included in the handbook is our Academic & Events Calendar as well as Bell Schedule.

A Note From Our Principal:
September 17th, 2018
Greetings Stingray community,
It's hard to believe it's already mid-September! It feels like just yesterday we welcomed students at Gear Up Day. So much learning & school spirit fills our temporary classrooms at QLN! This week will surely be memorable as we have our first ASB led Town Hall Meeting on Thursday at 11:00. During this time, our entire school community will come together for a moment of camaraderie and spirit! We will have a combined lunch on this particular day.
Just a reminder, September 24th-October 1st are homeschool days. Unfortunately, when we secured QLN as our temporary location these dates were already taken. This said, teachers will be posting clear daily instructions on Schoology. The next day's assignment will be posted by 4 p.m the day prior. For example, all assignments for Tuesday, 9/25 will be accessible to students by Monday, 9/24 at 4 p.m. Classroom projects and assignments will be modified for a home setting. Timely check-ins and accountability with students will be ensured. Parents, please check in with your student daily to ensure they are staying on top of their schoolwork and do not hesitate to reach out to a teacher with any clarifying questions. Our first conferences will be 9/28 & 10/1 at our Coastal Academy K-8 site. They are graciously allowing us space to meet with students & parents. Mentor advisory teachers will be reaching out.
Lastly, you are invited to join me in a virtual "Coffee Chat" on Thursday, 9/20 from 8:30 -9:30. I will be providing a brief CAH update and tutorial on the Summit Learning platform. There will be time for Q&A as well. Bring your coffee, bring your questions!
To RSVP and add this event to your Google calendar click here.
To access the coffee chat on Thursday, simply follow this link: meet.google.com/yct-beti-cgz.
As always, my door is always open for your questions, comments or feedback. I look forward to a wonderful week of learning! See you around campus!
Sincerely,
Samantha Bartrom
Principal
