Happy Monday Stingray community,
Can you believe we are entering the last week of first semester? What a journey this semester has been! From starting our year at QLN to the launch of the 4 day program, Summit Learning, our Athletics program and so much more, we have all certainly been kept on our toes haven't we? I'm so grateful for your continued flexibility, support and partnership.
As we head into this week I have a few important reminders:
Monday, 1//14 is our last Office Hours opportunity for the semester. Please encourage your student to attend should they need or benefit from teacher support.
Tuesday, 1/15 & Wednesday 1/16 are students' Final Presentation of Learning. Students have been reviewing for this in mentor advisory and in class. To ensure their success students should:
1) Sign up for a presentation time via this link . If your student hasn't done this, they must do this today.
2) Students must prepare for their presentation of learning. Students should have already completed their graphic organizer. The graphic organizer includes ALL the information students must touch upon in their presentation. Students do NOT need to memorize their presentation and can have their graphic organizer with them to refer to if they'd like. To access the graphic organizer click here.
3) To view a sample Presentation of Learning click here. Are you curious how students will be assessed? Click here to view the rubric teachers will be using to evaluate student presentations.
4) Due to students being off campus this week, teachers will have reasonable at home assignments for students next week. Please be sure to ask your student about their progress with these assignments.
5) Should your student need math support or need to take a Content Assessment a testing room will be open from 8-2 both Tuesday & Wednesday. Students in the testing room must be focused and task oriented.
Thursday, 1/17 & and Friday, 1/18: Conferences. Please double check your logs are complete and printed. Also, please be sure you have signed up for a conference time with your mentor teacher.
Tuesday 11/15 - Friday 11/18 (8-2): A testing room will be open for students to come on campus to take assessments. This room will be available for testing only.
I look forward to seeing you on campus!
Sincerely,
Samantha Bartrom
Principal
Coastal Academy High School
