Welcome to the Additional Support Needs Department at Alva Academy!

At Alva Academy we are committed to ensuring all our young people can access education and are able to achieve. Our departmental vision is to create a nurturing, caring and inclusive environment where young people are able to achieve their full potential.

We have a wealth of skills, knowledge and expertise within our department. We work closely with the Principal Teachers of Pupil Support (PTPS), subject teaching staff and outside agencies to provide teaching and learning support to pupils across the school.

We fully recognise that there are a wide variety of barriers our young people may experience to their learning. We strive to create bespoke learning support packages that are tailored to each individual pupil.
