We have focused in particular on ways in which food security can be improved specifically by focusing on gender empowerment - greater access to land rights, training and finance. It is extremely important you have SPECIFIC case studies you can refer to.
This section is more generalised looking at issues relating to food and general ways in which food security can be improved. There is also a country specific case study at the end focusing on BANGLADESH.
Objectives:
Review causes of food insecurity including food waste
Cover temporal and factoral responses using two different texts
Create overall notes on these two
Bangladesh as a case study of improving food security.

Instructions on a large piece of paper add 3 sections -
1. top 10 causes of food insecurity.
2. reducing food waste in HICs (France case study) and LICs (Uganda case study) -
3. case study - an evaluation of the responses to food insecurity in a country of my choice.
Group Task: In groups of 3 you will be producing notes which you will turn into either:
a short presentation on a maximum of 6 slides (2 for each)
or
A short news video on the 3 contemporary approaches to food production. You will need an introduction and interviews with 2 separate "experts" to discuss the advantages and disadvantages with specific information.
You will need to contribute to a shared document
You will edit and upload by the end of the lesson.
