Particular Course Requirements:
The Year 11 course offers students the opportunity to engage in Australian law concepts and practice. A highlight of the course is the opportunity to enter the Mock Trial competition program Students work
through hypothetical scenarios in courtroom settings. The teams compete against other school groups, and receive feedback from practicing barristers, solicitors and magistrates.
External Assessment:
HSC Examination – 3 hours
multiple choice and Short/Extended Response questions based on the Core Subjects, Elective question

ATAR - 2 unit
The Year 11 course develops students’ knowledge and understanding of the nature and functions of law and law-making, the development of Australian and international legal systems, the rights and duties of the individual. This is achieved through investigating and analysing legal information including legislation, case law and current issues in the media, as well as investigating legal issues from a variety of perspectives.
The Year 12 course investigates the key areas of law, justice and human rights through a variety of focus studies, which consider how changes in societies influence law reform.
