Photography, Video and Digital Imaging

Students who choose Photography, Video & Digital Imaging have the opportunity to gain practical skills through a variety of photographic and digital projects. Students will learn to draw inspiration from their own experiences and ideas, look at the world in new ways and develop a critical eye that will enable them to think independently in our contemporary world.
The course is designed to enable students to gain an increasing accomplishment and independence in their representation of ideas in the fields of photography and/or video and/or digital imaging and understand and value how these fields of practice invite different interpretations and explanations.
Skills and content covered in this course may include:
Operating a Digital Single Reflex (DSLR) and Panasonic film camera and using digital editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere Pro.
Planning and recording photographs based on a range of themes.
Creation of photography, narrative film, music videos, storyboarding, special effects, green screen, website design, object design, posters, brochures and production.
Analyse and reflect on the work of photographers, artists, directors and films to help inform students' own practice and gain an understanding of the industry.
Consideration of Workplace Health and Safety in the industry (mandatory).
Using a Process Diary to plan, record and reflect on practice.

Choose this subject if you have an interest in photography, film making, advertising, digital editing, graphic design, merchandising, directing, film criticism, sound production, journalism and multi-media design.
