Course Description:
Music Extension allows students to develop and expand their aural awareness and understanding through their specialisation in Performance or Composition or Musicology. Each student will follow an individual program of study, which will be negotiated, between the teacher and student.
The purpose if the Music Extension course is to expand studies undertaken in Music 2 and focus on the continuing development and refinement of student's advanced music knowledge and skills.
It provides an opportunity for musically and academically talented students to undertake a rigourous music study and build sophistication of their practice.

Year 11 Course:
Students study electives based upon their interests and strengths. The electives are chosen from the learning experiences of Performance, Composition and Musicology.
Year 12 Course:
Further specialisation in Performance, Composition or Musicology.
Employment & Further Study Opportunities:
This Music Course develops the necessary complex skills such as creative reasoning, independent decision-making and reflective judgment, to empower students to enter any chosen 21st century pathway. Students in this course often have a desire to continue learning Music after school. Other pathways include Musician, Music Therapy, Performer, Composer and or Arranger, Events Manager, Promotions Manager, Sound and Audio Engineer, Record and Sound Producer, Music Theatre, Music or Instrumental Teacher, Conductor, Working in Radio, Film, TV and Multimedia.
