Course Description:
Music Course 2 provides students with the opportunity to build on the knowledge, skills, understanding and attitudes gained in Music 7-10 and encourage the desire to continue learning in formal and informal music settings after school. The course offers students opportunities to extend their musical knowledge with a focus on Western Art Music. It allows students to develop knowledge, skills and understanding in a wide range of musical styles and contexts, and a structure in which they can pursue an area of specialisation.

This Music Course develops the necessary complex skills such as creative reasoning, independent decision-making and reflective judgment, to empower students to enter any chosen 21st century pathway. Performing Arts students could go on to study in the following fields - Musician, Events Manager, Promotions Manager, Music Therapy, Performer, Composer and or Arranger, Sound and Audio Engineer, Record and Sound Producer, Music Theatre, Music/Instrumental Teacher, Conductor, working in Radio, Film, TV and Multimedia.
