Course Description:
The Year 11 course is structured to provide students with an understanding of humanhood and personhood understood by the Catholic tradition. The human person is a foundational concept of the Catholic Church, founded in Scripture and informed by philosophy and theology.
The Year 12 course is structured to provide students with an understanding of how a moral and ethical life naturally flows from the Catholic Church’s understanding of what it is to be human.

Studies in Catholic Thought uses a liberal arts approach to explore Catholic beliefs, rituals and ethics. Films, artwork and other contemporary texts are the basis for this exploration.
This course is non-ATAR and all the assessments are done during timetabled lessons. There is no Trial Examination or HSC Examination for this course. Students who would like to commit more focus to other subjects or for whom writing essays is not a strength, may benefit from choosing this course.
