Course Description
Advanced English is designed for students to undertake the challenge of higher order thinking to enhance their personal, social, educational and vocational lives. Advanced English students apply critical and creative skills in composing and responding to texts. They aim for sophisticated understanding of the nature and function of complex texts. The course requires the study of at least FIVE textual forms: Shakespearean drama; prose fiction; poetry or drama or film; non-fiction, film or media.
Suitable for stududents who have:
particular interest and ability in English (Stage 5 grades of B or above in English)
well-developed, broad critical reading habits
strong communication skills
strong creative and critical writing skills
