Marcie attended Central College in Pella where she participated in basketball for two years and in track and field for four years. In 1982, Marcie led Central College to the NCAA Divison III Women's Track & Field Championship and also to two other national top ten team finishes. Marcie was Central College's first NCAA Divison III individual champion when she won the long jump and was the anchor on the national champion 4x100 relay team in 1982 and 1983. She was a four time college letter winner and also earned All-American recognition nine times in five events. Marcie held seven Central College school records at one time. She also set five Iowa Conference records. In 2005, she was inducted into the Central College Hall of Honor for Women's Track & Field. After college, Marcie became an athletic apparel designer. She has worked for several sporting good manufacturers creating uniforms, jackets, caps, and warm-up gear for numerous NFL, NBA, MLB and NCAA athletes and teams.
