William Witt was born February 2, 1950. After graduating from Central, William received a B.A. in English at the University of Northern Iowa (highest honors). He served in Afghanistan as U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer. William has also been a member of the Cedar Falls Rotary Club, Sierra Club, Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Returned Peace Corps Volunteers Association, Habitat for Humanity, UNI Special Education Advisory Board, and board of directors of the Black Hawk-Grundy Community Mental Health Center. William served from 1993 to 2003 in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing the 23rd District.
