Sandy Groth received her BA in Art Education, Cum Laude, from Luther College, and then took courses in education from Northwestern University, art education in the Masters program at Arizona State, and in education/computers from Virginia Common Wealth University. Sandy started teaching K-4 Art in Johnston, Iowa. She became a member of her school's technology committee and was a team coordinator in administrative communications. Sandy served on her school's CARE team which screens students referred for a variety of problems and provides mentoring or device intervention plans for students at risk. In 1991, Sandy was awarded a Connie Belin Fellowship for the study of gifted education at the University of Iowa.
