Craig Watson enrolled in Iowa State University in the Fall of 1970 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 1974. He continued his studies at Iowa State receiving his Master of Science degree in Meat Science in 1976. While in graduate school, Craig managed the ISU Meats Laboratory and coached the University Meat Judging Team. He later became Assistant Vice President of SYSCO in charge of Quality Assurance Activites.
