Jack Dittmer was chosen in 1968 for his outstanding accomplishments in the field of professional baseball. Jack starred in football, basketball and baseball while attending Elkader High School. As a student at the University of Iowa, he lettered in three sports. Jack brought fame to Elkader in the field of professional baseball when he played as a second baseman in the National League, first with Boston and later in Milwaukee.
