Welcome to our Class!

Hello! My name is Erin Vawter and I will be your child’s Kindergarten teacher. This is my 16th year in education and 5th at Celina Primary.

I am a native Texan and graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Early Childhood Education.

I live in Sherman with my husband, Steve, and our 2 girls Brynli and Layni. We also have a WHOLE lot of animals :). We have 9 dogs, 2 cows, 2 goats, 1 pig, 3 cats, and many chickens and ducks. Some would call us crazy---- I would agree :).

I cannot wait to spend the next year watching your child grow and learn. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or ideas. I am looking forward to getting to know your child and your family.

Meet the Teacher will be on Monday, August 8th. Please sign up for a specific time to meet. The link is here https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0e44abae2ea1fc1-meet2 This will be a brief 15 minute meeting.

1. Please review the Supply Labeling Directions Page prior to your appointment. You will need to help us by labeling many of your supplies before you come. Some supplies will need to be kept at home in the event that we need to transition to online learning.
2. Please print and fill out the About My Child page completely BEFORE you arrive for your meeting. If you do not have the ability to print this form out in advance, another option is a google form to fill out online here is that link. Google Form About My Child.
3. Please complete this How I Go Home Google Form so that I can know how your child will be getting home the first and second day of school.
4. Once you have checked in, you will wait in the cafeteria until your teacher is able to meet with you to accompany you to her room.
5. Enjoy your visit with your new teacher! We are so happy to have you here with us. Once your visit has concluded, your teacher will accompany you to the exit on the south side of the building. You may follow the sidewalk around the building to get back to the parking lot.

Our students attend a different specials class each day for 45 minutes. In addition to daily specials, our class goes to P.E. every day for 30 minutes. Students need to wear sneakers every day to safely participate in P.E. or bring them to change into. Shorts need to be worn underneath dresses and skirts.

Lunch money may be added to your child's lunch account online on the My School Bucks site. Lunch and breakfast prices are as follows:

Breakfast: $2.25

Lunch: $3.25

We will eat snack in the classroom EVERYDAY!

Please provide a healthy snack for your child to eat in class during snack time and a flip top/straw water bottle that can be easily refilled. No screw top bottles please.

Please be sure to check Blue Daily Folders regularly. This will be where behavior notes, daily notes, sight words, and other information will be sent home. This is also where you will send notes to school.
