Hello, I am Charlotte Coates and I am blessed to be your child's Kindergarten teacher this year! I am a very proud native Texan and have a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Early Childhood Education from The University of North Texas (GO Mean Green!!!). This will be my 4th year teaching Kindergarten in Celina, but my 16th year teaching (15 years in Kindergarten and 1 year in 2nd Grade).

I believe that our classroom is a family. I believe that I need to find my way into all of my student’s hearts before I will ever be able to have my lessons mean something to them. I call my students “Mrs. Coates’ Kiddos” because I love them like my own and they will forever be "my kiddos" since they will always have a place in my heart.

I love to brag that I am a proud Army Wife and Mom. My husband, Joey, is a Captain with the Texas Army National Guard. We have been married for 17 years and have two amazing kiddos! Liam is 15 years old, a Freshman and loves playing football, riding and fixing up mountain bikes and dirt bikes. Cortlandt is 11 years old, in 6th Grade at Celina Middle School and has already found her passion for drawing and art. Our family also has three fur babies; a 100+ lb. German Shepard/Golden Lab named Hudson and two feisty cats named Fredrick and Milo.

When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, spending weekends at our family farm in East Texas, drinking coffee, reading, working out, and shopping!

I look forward to another great year at Celina Primary School! We truly do have the best kiddos and I am so blessed to get to teach yours!

Our students attend a different specials class each day for 45 minutes. In addition to daily specials, our class goes to P.E. class every day for 30 minutes. Students need to wear sneakers every day to safely participate in P.E.

Lunch money may be added to your child's lunch account online on the My School Bucks site.

Please provide a healthy snack for your child to eat in class during snack time. Please no snacks that are wet and need a spoon. Please provide a flip top/straw water bottle that can be easily refilled. No screw top bottles please.

Spills and accidents can occur in school. Please send in a complete change of clothing in a large ziplock bag in your child's backpack. Label the bag with your child's first and last name. Clothes will be stored in your students backpack until they are needed. Please make sure to swap out the clothes to fit the changing weather.

We will have snack time in the morning every day. Sometimes we don’t have time to pack a snack at home, we forget it, or we are still hungry after we finish our snack. We have a long time from breakfast to lunch and I want to make sure every kiddo has a full tummy for our morning of learning! If you would like to donate snacks to the classroom we would greatly appreciate it. Use the Classroom Snack Amazon Wish List link if you would like to donate snacks and have them shipped directly to the school.
