My name is Brittney Aldridge, this is my sixth year teaching and my fourth year here in Celina! I am a graduate of Austin College in Sherman, where I received both my Bachelors and my Masters degree. Go Roos! Kindergarten is truly where it's at for me, I knew from my first education class that I wanted to be a kindergarten teacher and have yet to change my mind about that.
I have a Bojack (Boston Terrier/Jack Russell Mix) named Toki and he is my world, I’m sure you will hear all about him as the year goes on. I love to paint and draw in my free time when I’m not finding something new to binge-watch or spending time with Toki. I am also very into thrifting, I love finding treasures, bargains, and the thrill of the hunt. I collect all sorts of quirky/kitschy things.
In my classroom we are a family, I strive to foster that from day one. Relationships are the foundation for learning and it is important that those relationships be positive so that you can build a love of learning. I believe very much in independence and being a problem solver and peacemaker. I challenge “my kids” to be critical thinkers and solution finders. Routines and procedures are a huge part of how my classroom functions, I believe this helps the kids build independence.
Communication is a two way street with teachers and parents, please do not hesitate to reach out to me either through Remind101 or email. I aim to keep parents as informed as I can with what all that is going on in our class and with their child.
I look forward to another great year at Celina Primary School! The best kids are here in Celina and I am so fortunate to get to teach them.
Love,
Miss Aldridge
