Welcome to our Class!

Hi! My name is Debbie McDonald! This is my 17th year in education and my 1st year in Celina! I am a graduate of the University of North Texas. I have previously taught 1st grade, Kindergarten, and Elementary Special Education grades EC-2nd. I love getting to come to school each day and pass on my passion for learning with precious young kiddos at the beginning of their educational journey! I am so excited to have the opportunity to work at Celina Primary this year!

I have been married to my husband, Drew, for 27 years. He is teacher and a coach. We have 2 grown daughters, Ashley and Mandi. Both our daughters are recent graduates of Texas Tech and the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. When I am not teaching, I enjoying reading, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.

I look forward to a great year at Celina Primary School. I can not wait to meet you and your student and to begin our school year together!

What to bring to meet the teacher

What to do before Meet The Teacher:

Please review the Supply Labeling Directions page prior to your appointment. You will need to help us by labeling some of your supplies before you arrive.
Please fill out the About My Child Form completely BEFORE you arrive for your meeting. Please also fill out this How I Go Home Google form regarding your child's transportation prior to the first day of school.
Once you have checked in, you will wait in the cafeteria until your teacher is able to meet with you to accompany you to her room.
Enjoy your visit with your new teacher! We are so happy to have you here with us. Once your visit has concluded, your teacher will accompany you to the exit on the south side of the building. You may follow the sidewalk around the building to get back to the parking lot.

Please be sure to check Blue Daily Folders regularly. This will be where behavior notes, daily notes, sight words, and other information will be sent home. This is also where you will send notes to school.
