Welcome to our Class!

My name is Wendi Sands. I have been teaching early childhood since 1988. My husband and high school sweetheart, Dusty, married in 1990. We have three wonderful children. Skyler, is a grad of TX State, and is an instructional designer for Meta (FB). Haley, has a bachelors from SFA and is in grad school at UNT. She teaches High School SPED at Cedar Creek HS in Bastrop ISD. They both live in Austin. Landon, graduated from Tx Tech nursing school and is an ICU nurse at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. My family loves to play board games, try food from different cultures and discuss current movies, and politics.

Our school theme this year is Candy Land. Our class theme is Peter Pan. As in Peter Pan, in our classroom we stick together like Peter's shadow sticks to him. We become a family, like the "Darling" family of Peter Pan. We love and support one another at all times. I call my students "Darlings", because in our year together they are not just kids on my class list, they become a part of my heart. I believe when families, schools, and community groups work together to support learning, children do better in school, stay in school longer, and like school more.

What to bring to Meet the Teacher...

1. Please review the Supply Labeling Directions Page prior to your appointment. Please help us by labeling some of your supplies before you come.
2. Please complete the About My Child and How I Get Home Google Forms completely BEFORE you arrive for your meeting.
3. Once you have checked in, you will wait in the cafeteria until your teacher is able to meet with you to accompany you to her room.
4. Enjoy your visit with your new teacher! We are so happy to have you here with us. Once your visit has concluded, your teacher will accompany you to the exit on the south side of the building. You may follow the sidewalk around the building to get back to the parking lot.

DAily Folders

Please be sure to check Blue Daily Folders regularly. This will be where behavior notes, daily notes, sight words, and other information will be sent home. This is also where you will send notes to school.

Class schedule

Our students attend a different specials class each day for 45 minutes. In addition to daily specials, our class goes to P.E. class every day for 30 minutes. Students need to wear sneakers every day to safely participate in P.E. as well as for 30 minutes of recess.

Lunch money may be added to your child's lunch account online on the "My School Bucks" site as well as for additional snack purchases as available.

Breakfast: $2.25 Lunch: $3.25 Milk: $.60

Please provide a healthy snack for your child to eat in class during snack time and a flip top/straw water bottle that can be easily refilled. No screw top plastic bottles please.

Change of clothes

Please keep a zipper-sealable bag of extra clothes in your child's backpack in case they have an accident at school or get dirty/wet and need to change. Label the bag with your child's first and last name. Please make sure to swap out the clothes to fit the changing weather.
