Content:

Students will know and understand:

    • How to use skip-counting and dot paper as concrete representations for multiplication facts.
    • The inverse relationship between multiplication and division as a way to write division sentences from related multiplication sentences.

Skills:

Students Will:

    • Skip-count by 3's and then by 4's.
    • Solve multiplication and division word problems.
    • Use dot paper to multiply by 3 & 4.
    • Use know multiplication facts to find new multiplication facts.
    • Identify related multiplication facts.
    • Write a multiplication sentence and a related division sentence.

Upon completion of Unit 15:

  • 2.OA.C.4. Use addition to find the total number of objects arranged in rectangular arrays with up to 5 rows and up to 5 columns; write an equation to express the total as a sum of equal addends.
