Debate Scoring

Each part of the debate will be scored in the following way:

• consistent focus on position

• rebuttal effectively refutes opponent's position

• team members speak clearly

• speakers stay within allotted time

• all team members follow rules of debate

2. Fair

3. Average

4. Good

5. Excellent

Total Score

• There are 4 speaking parts to the debate format, therefore, there is an opportunity to earn 20 points.

• The team with the most points wins the debate.
