What is it?
ClassCraft is a gamified behavior management platform designed to transform your classroom experience into an immersive adventure for students. ClassCraft combines elements of a role-playing game (RPG) with classroom management, creating a unique and positive learning environment.
Why should I check it out?
ClassCraft's gamified approach reimagines your classroom as a year-long quest, where students seek to earn experience points by demonstrating positive behaviors that the teacher establishes in the beginning of their adventure. This heightened engagement can motivate even the most disinterested learners and make the classroom a place they look forward to attending.
ClassCraft provides an innovative way to manage student behavior. By awarding experience points based on conduct and participation, it not only helps maintain a well-behaved classroom but also teaches students about accountability and consequences in a fun and memorable way.
ClassCraft is highly adaptable and customizable, allowing you to integrate it seamlessly into your classroom. You can create quests, challenges, and rewards that align with your specific subjects and teaching style, making it a versatile tool for educators across different disciplines.
Successful classrooms foster teamwork and collaboration. ClassCraft's team-based approach encourages students to work together, promoting cooperation, communication, and problem-solving. This can help them develop social and interpersonal skills that extend beyond the classroom.
ClassCraft is an easy and accessible way to cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom culture. Recognizing and rewarding students for their efforts, kindness, and respect fosters a supportive atmosphere where students feel valued and encouraged, enhancing their overall learning experience. Packaging all this in a gamified environment gives students an engaging system that they can buy into.
How do I get started?
You can head to classcraft.com and create a free account right away. From there, you can create your classroom(s), adjust your expected behaviors, and the rewards that students can spend their XP on. ClassCraft splits their year-long experience into several “chapters” that you can move through as the year progresses, which ensures that it won’t lose its novelty and students won’t disengage.
We have access to the free version of ClassCraft. Most of ClassCraft's features are available for free, but there are some limitations. In addition to experience points, students can earn a currency called gold pieces. On the free version of Classcraft, your ability as the teacher to customize the amount of gold pieces a student earns is very limited. Gold pieces are used on the students' avatars, while experience points are used on the custom rewards you set up as the teacher. There are also limitations on Google integrations. None of the premium features are enough to make ClassCraft's free product less valuable! Email Mike Neumire if you're interested in learning more.
