Lakeside Wind Ensemble

The Lakeside Wind Ensemble is our flagship concert ensemble. This group is an audition-only ensemble comprised of the finest wind and percussion students in the Lakeside Band Program. This ensemble is recognized as one of the finest in the area, consistently earning superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluations performing collegiate-level wind band literature. The ensemble performs additional off-campus concerts both semesters; the annual Veteran's Day concert in the fall and a spring tour. The Lakeside Wind Ensemble has performed at the 1997 January Festival of Bands at the University of Georgia, the 1997 GMEA In-Service Conference in Savannah, the 1998 Southeastern United States Concert Band Clinic at Troy State University, and most recently performed at the 5th annual Music for All Southeastern Regional Concert Festival at Georgia State University in March of 2019. Students in this ensemble are expected to maintain the highest standards of individual development on their respective instruments. Each year, nearly every member of the ensemble earns a spot in the GMEA Region X Honor Band and many students regularly earn spots in the GMEA All-State Honor Band.
