Thank you for visiting our website!
The Lakeside High School Band Program is the largest student activity at Lakeside High School, serving around 250 students each year by offering performance opportunities in four concert bands, a jazz program, percussion ensembles, various chamber groups, three competitive winter guards, and the Bands of America Regional Finalist “Pride of the Panthers” Marching Band. The program also incorporates a student leadership program and corresponding curriculum, and members of the program also have the opportunity to gain membership in Tri-M, the National Association for Music Education’s national honor society for music students.
Our principal is very supportive with financial assistance for our repair needs and many classroom material expenditures, but the reality is that a program of this size and scope requires a great deal of support, both in man hours and in finances, to provide these experiences for the students and to continue to grow and serve as an ambassador for Lakeside High School and the community (did you know a marching tuba, or "sousaphone," costs $8,000??). Our “fair share” program evenly distributes our per-student operations costs across the members so that everyone is investing equally financially as well as in the classroom, on the field, and on the stage.
One way we are able to help keep the cost down for our students and their families is through corporate sponsorships. Local business, business owners, leaders, and other organizations play a crucial role in helping us continue to provide the highest-quality experience for our students. Below you can learn more about our Corporate Sponsorship Program.
$25,000 will allow us to update our drum line equipment!
$15,000 will cover our charter bus bill for a marching band trip!
$8,000 will buy a new tuba!
$4,000 will buy a new tenor saxophone!
$2,000 will buy a new piccolo!
$1,000 will cover a meal!
$500 can't do a lot by itself, but every little bit matters!

Corporate Sponsorships are available in three formats: Student Sponsorship, Program Sponsorship, and Event Sponsorship. Regardless of format, all donations are tax deductible and will come with a tax receipt and donation letter from our school. In addition, all sponsorships/donations are recognized the same in regards to your Corporate Sponsor account and Corporate Partner level. A note on anonymity: all recognitions are made automatically, but we understand that many benefactors wish to remain anonymous. Please communicate this with us upon making a donation.
Format:
Student Sponsorship: All students in the program have a "fair share" account that they are responsible for, as well as any additional costs incurred through additional activities such as co-curriculars like winter guard or field trips like our annual spring performance trip. You may sponsor a specific student with our Student Sponsorship Form. 50% of each donation also counts towards your Corporate Partner level.
Program Sponsorship: General sponsorship of our program's operations can occur as one-time donations or recurring donations such as an annual pledge. Any donations made to the program will be recognized in our web and print materials as well as at performances during that fiscal year.
Event Sponsorship: From time to time, our program earns invitations to regionally- and nationally-recognized events. The Event Sponsorship program allows for donations to specific causes. Before, during, and after the event, the sponsor will be recognized through relevant publications and materials such as concert programs, social media and newsletter communications, and web content.
Band Student Assistance Program (BSAP): In addition to the above options, we have a special account we call our "BSAP" to help students and families in financial need. This program operates separately from our other initiatives, so please reach out directly to our band directors to learn more.
