Syllabus
The Advanced Percussion Ensemble is one of Lakeside’s two percussion classes. Membership is determined by excellence in placement auditions. The “Advanced” designation indicates that the class focuses on advanced skills and topics in percussion. Students in this class perform large ensemble music with the Wind Ensemble and/or Wind Symphony as well as solo and small ensemble music for percussion. This curriculum also incorporates a lot of guided independent work, requiring a higher level of maturity and work ethic.

All assignments will be posted and graded through your respective Google Classrooms. All non-performance assignments will also be submitted through Google Classroom. Please check with the band directors if you need the class code.

Semester Exams
The final exam each semester will be a written assessment of the student’s knowledge of musical terminology. The study guide/review materials are distributed following the semester’s larger breaks (Thanksgiving Break and Spring Break).
