Symphonic Band

3rd Period – Intermediate Band

2022-2023

Syllabus

The Symphonic Band is the third of Lakeside’s four concert bands. Membership is earned through excellence in placement auditions. The “Intermediate Band” designation indicates that the ensemble primarily performs grade III and IV concert band literature with the occasional incorporation of grade V literature as developmentally appropriate. The curriculum focuses on advancing skills and musicianship while remediating some advanced middle school concepts. A strong emphasis is given to fundamental development to prepare members of this ensemble for District Honor Band auditions and advancing to the Wind Symphony (Advanced Band).
