FIELD STUDY 2 - LEARNING EPISODE 10 WRITING MY LEARNING/LESSON PLANS
REFLECT
Why is lesson planning an integral part of the instructional cycle?
Lesson planning is an essential part of the instructional cycle because it provides a structured guide for teachers to deliver effective lessons. It ensures that learning objectives are clear, activities are purposeful, and assessments are aligned with the desired outcomes. Lesson plans also allow teachers to reflect on and adapt their strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, ultimately facilitating better learning experiences and outcomes.
Work on my Artifacts
Paste one (1) lesson plan and write your simple reflection.
Reflecting on the lesson plan, I see the importance of balancing direct instruction with engaging activities that promote student participation. The structured steps, such as reviewing previous lessons, establishing a clear purpose, and providing interactive activities, ensure students can grasp the material while actively engaging with it. The lesson also emphasizes the practical application of knowledge by encouraging students to create their own paragraphs reflecting the different text types. This approach not only helps students internalize the concepts but also enables them to demonstrate their understanding creatively.
I’ve also learned that establishing clear objectives helps in focusing the lesson, ensuring students are aware of what they need to achieve by the end. The challenge is ensuring that each student, regardless of learning style, is adequately supported, and activities like the "Text Type Challenge" are helpful in assessing their individual grasp of the lesson. In future lessons, I’ll continue to refine my methods for engaging students and managing class time effectively to meet the learning goals.
