FIELD STUDY 2 - LEARNING EPISODE 1
THE TEACHER WE REMEMBER
REFLECT
Which personal traits do I possess? Where do I need improvement in?
I believe I am adaptable and a good listener. These traits are important because, as a teacher, I need to adjust to a constantly changing environment and understand my students' needs. However, I need to work on sharing best practices with others. I can improve this by gaining more experience, as I believe experience is the best teacher.
Which professional competencies am I strongly capable of demonstrating?
I am good at being flexible and adaptable. I understand that learning never stops, and as a teacher, I must be the one to adjust to my students' development.
In which competencies do I need to develop more?
I need to improve my skills in organizing and planning. When there’s a lot to do, I sometimes get confused about which tasks to prioritize.
Who are the teachers that we remember most?
We remember the teachers who treated us like family, who gave their all to help us become the best versions of ourselves. They are the ones who built real connections with us and taught us lessons that went beyond the textbook.
Work on my Artifacts
Attached your reflection here.
In my journey to becoming a teacher, I’ve realized how important it is to balance personal qualities and professional skills. During my observations at Bolo Norte National High School with Sir Salvador Clores, I saw how connecting with students on a personal level made the lessons more meaningful. It’s not just about teaching content; it’s about building relationships, understanding students, and helping them feel comfortable and valued in the classroom. This is something I want to focus on in my own teaching.
I’ve noticed that I’m adaptable and a good listener, which helps me understand my students better. However, I need to improve my ability to organize and prioritize tasks, especially when there’s a lot to do. I sometimes get overwhelmed, and this is an area where I need to grow. I plan to work on this by practicing better time management and seeking advice from experienced teachers.
In my future teaching practice, I also want to focus on using more creative instructional materials and giving effective feedback. I observed that the lack of diverse materials can leave some students behind, and not giving feedback regularly can slow down their progress. I’m determined to find ways to make every lesson engaging and inclusive, even with the limited time we have in class. I believe that by continuously improving both my personal and professional traits, I can become a better teacher and create a positive learning environment for my students.
